Pick up directly from your hotel in Sorrento from where we’ll leave for Pompeii arriving at destination after about 30 minutes.
Today Pompeii holds an intense fascination for visitors since, following the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in the year 79 A.D., it laid buried and forgotten for hundreds of years.
The town is among the UNESCO World Heritage Sites and the excavations, which began in the 18th century, are still being carried out today.
During the 2-hour tour of the ruins, our guide will take you slowly through some of the ancient streets of Pompeii where you will see Baths, Forums and Villas built by the prosperous Romans in the year 80 B.C. and marvel at the fabulously preserved Frescos which adorn the walls and floors of the villas.
You will visit some of the places on the following itinerary: Amphitheatre - Palestra - Casa dei Fuggiaschi - Casa del Menandro - Teatro Grande e Piccolo - Palestra dei Gladiatori - Terme Stabiesi - Lupanare - Il Faro - Casa dei Vetti - Casa del Fauno - Casa del Poeta Tragico - Villa dei Misteri.
Our tour will continue to the slopes of Vesuvius where we will visit a winery and have lunch with a tasting of local wines. At the end of the visit to the wine cellar, we will return to Sorrento.
